No Thanksgiving Yoga

No drop in yoga this Thanksgiving Monday. (tonight)

I hope that you have a sweet day.  I hope that it is filled with a good book, or people you love, or a walk in the forest, or something that fills you (like a funny youtube video! 😉  I am spending the day with my family.

summer time

IMG_20161112_170557578 2It is definitely that time of year again.  The days are long.  School is almost out.  And I will be taking July and August off of teaching yoga.  Teaching yoga is definitely one of my absolutely favourite things to do!  But I am finding that it is super crucial for me to take some time off every year!  Motherhood doesn’t really allow time off.  So I’ll take the time off teaching yoga!!!

I hope that you enjoy some time off yourself.

I love playing in my garden and finding some water in which to immerse!

Come enjoy some classes this month before I hide in the lettuce patch!

It’s September

The air is shifting.  I am all wrapped up in a blanket.  The cats curled up beside me.  Ezra asleep upstairs.  I am going to roll my yoga mat out soon.  I have committed to roll it out every day this month.  And that’s hard for me.  Yep even for me!  But before I roll my yoga mat out and begin to move I wanted to shout out to you.  It’s 5am on a Friday morning… so you are all probably still sleeping.. but I wanted to say…

MY YOGA CLASSES ARE STARTING AGAIN SOON.  Come and play with me.

I would love to move with you.  In a group.  In private.  Whatever works for you.  The morning?  I’ve got a morning series coming up.  The evening?  I would love to spend Monday evenings with you.

If you have questions.  Please let me know!

summer holy days

I am taking July and August off of teaching yoga.

This break is a huge gift I offer myself, a gift I give my family, and ultimately a gift I offer my students.  This time to refresh and slow done is so important for me.  I am very blessed to be able to take this time to play with my children, my partner, and to spend time all by myself.  I am taking the summer to pick raspberries and garden, to watch the sun rise.  I am taking the summer to sleep in and read novels.  I am taking the summer to swim with my children… and to do some Nothing too.

I look forward to seeing you in September!!!!

come celebrate with me

I have been teaching yoga for 21 years.

21 years ago I was 21 years old!   YES I WAS!   I started teaching yoga to a few of my University student friends in a small space in 1996.  I was scared and excited!  One class turned into two classes.  I changed locations.  More people gathered.  I started putting up posters!  Years passed.  I made an audio tape!  SOLD them.  People continued to come.  And I continued to teach.  I changed locations again!  I started teaching morning monthlong series.  I loved teaching!  I began teaching pre and post natal yoga classes when I was pregnant with my first daughter!  Two years after that I embarked on another yoga teacher training.  People continued to find me and I continued to love teaching!  And then one day (recently) I look up and do the math and realize that decades have gone by!

I have been truly blessed to have shared all these years laughing and crying and moving and growing and loving so many people.  I have been utterly transformed by all the yoga in my life.  It has sustained me!

I have had the privilege of getting to know so many people over the years.  Some have stayed with me for almost as long as I have been teaching!  I am truly blessed to share life joys and sorrows with you.  And I would like to thank you for being my student!

Please join me for a free yoga class.  Followed by raw treats and tea!!!  All are welcome.  All ages!  Children and babies are welcome!  Even though I know it’s bedtime for some!

Monday February 13,    7pm,      Knox Church, back entrance

Let me know if you have any questions.

In four weeks I will be on this beach.  This will be my fifth raw yoga adventure retreat!  Although the weather in Guelph today is warm enough for a bikini, I’m looking forward to the Ocean!  I love swimming.  I am getting really excited!

Me and my peeps will be yogaing every day with the Ocean!  We will be eating fresh avocados and mangoes and coconuts.  OH MY!  And we will be doing so many other fun things!

You can follow me on Instagram or Facebook to see photos of what we get up too!

When I return at the end of November I will be ready for some winter time yoga!

And maybe someday you can join me!  (headstands are not required!)
